You’ve been working too hard wrangling with spreadsheets in order to create products and update your Magento store. Well, you can relax now because your spreadsheet nightmare is over!

We have been working day and night here at Venzee to integrate our platform with Magento and we are pleased to announce that it’s now available to all Venzee users! Product creation and updates are going to happen in a flash and with almost no use of spreadsheets. It will be almost as easy as waving a magic wand over it!

Venzee is a brand spanking new data transformation method that will make it possible for Magento merchants to work with some serious speed and without a lot of spreadsheets.  In fact, your spreadsheet use is going to see a 99% drop off!

Want to see how it works?  Let’s give it a go!

Step 1: On The House Sign Up Here

We’re not going to ask for your credit card information anywhere during this simple, 30-second sign up. You’ll be done in no time and able to start uploading your Source Data to Venzee. For more information watch our very short videos:

Step 2: The Magento Template

Ok, you have uploaded your data to Venzee and it will be referred to in the remainder of this blog post as your “Source Data”.

We have created a custom template for the Magento platform and placed it in the Venzee Template Library.  You are going to use it to create products that are fully compatible with the Magento platform. However, first we have to go get it!  So…let’s head on over to the Template Library and grab the Magento template.

Go to Dynamic Data and click the “Add” button. You’re now in our Template Library. When you spot the Magento template, select it and hit “Next”.

Step 3: Using The Magento Template To Make A Dynamic Collection

Ok, it’s time to create a Dynamic Collection.  The Dynamic Collection is what you will use when you want to make Magento-ready products from your Source Data.

In order to create a Dynamic Collection you’re going to map your Source Data’s attributes (color, weight, size etc.) to the fields in your Magento template. If the format of your Source Data stays the same you won’t need to do this again.  If you get stuck the little “?” is there to help you.

There are some advanced features as well. You can do math, add padding to make more attractive products, and make spec tables.

Click “Generate” when you’re done.  Click “Export” and Venzee will send you a download link.  Remember, this is the file that you’re going to use to make Magento-ready products.
